    When using memory made by LG Semicon,
    computer system cannot pass Himem.sys when booting up from DOS; cannot pass Winstone 96; hang up and give out some memory error message under Windows 3.1 and Windows 95, or no
    screen when boot up. This happen very often on EDO 4x32 60ns 16MB. The memory chips have the following make:
    LGS
    GM71C17403BJ6
    9616 KOREA

    We are working very closely with LG Group to solve this problem.


    Alert 8. MS-5128 & Cirrus Logic 5440 compatibility problem. 9/3/96

    When Cirrus Logic 5440 and its VGA driver installed, system may hang up, cannot display high resolution or no screen.

    Because 5440 is use on 2-layer VGA card, it is creating too much noise. Intel have posted detail document about this on World Wide Web. Intel is recommending use 4-layer VGA on Triton chipset motherboard.

    The next revision of MS-5128 will correct this problem.


    Alert 7. ATI Mach64 video card w/ IBM 37RGB514CF22 chip. 7/6/96

    When the new ATI Mach64 video card,
    in which has a IBM 37RGB514CF22
    chip build-in is installed in the system.
    Under Windows 95, when you move the mouse, there is no reaction and there is
    no mouse pointer show on the screen.

    A temporary solution to correct the
    above problem is to change the mouse scheme in mouse properties.

    Mouse scheme can be change under
    control panel->mouse->mouse properties
    ->scheme.

    The following mouse schemes has problem:
    • None
    • Animated Hourglasses
    • Windows Standard

    The following mouse schemes DO NOT have problem:

    • 3D Pointers
    • Windows Standard (extra large)·
    • Windows Standard (large)


    Alert 6. MS-4144 FDC Failure when disable serial port#2. 5/16/96

    1. Will get "FDC Failure" error message after keyboard reboot if disable serial port#2 in peripheral set up.
    2. Will not display 2E8H (com4) address in AMI Configuration Table if change serial port#2 rom Auto to 2E8H (com4) in peripheral set up.
    Update the BIOS to AF54S will solve the problem


    Alert 5. MS5120 & MS5119 have problem with Cyrix P150+ & P166+ CPUs. 5/07/96

    Once you install Western Digital 850MB, 1GB, 1.2GB, 1.6GB IDE Hard Drives, after you exiting from BIOS set up & booting up to C:\> prompt, if you power it off, then turn the power back on again, the system will show "Insert boot diskette in drive A" instead of booting up to C:\> directly, if you try to hit "Ctrl + Alt + Del", the system will work again. Reboot and go into cmos setup. In the PERIPHERAL SETUP option, select DETECT HARD DRIVE DELAY TIME to 5 seconds or more.
