MODEL M/B Version BIOS/DATE Correction Item (s) Remark
MS-4144 2.1 AF53 or AF53S

    MS-4144 version 1.4 does not has this problem.
MS-4144 has not
problem using other
CPUs including:
AMD X5 - 133 MHZ;

In response to Western Digital Hard Drives 850MB, !GB, 1.2GB, & 1.6GB cannot boot up correctly and receive a message "Insert boot diskette in drive A", we have two solutions:
1) Update the mainboard BIOS, and in the BIOS PERIPHERAL SETUP option selects DETECT HARD DRIVE DELAY TIME to 5 seconds or more.
OR
2) Low level format the hard drive. Format utility is available in the diskette that comes with the mainboard or can be download from Western Digital's BBS:(714)753-1234; Western Digital website:http://www/wdc.com, Western Digital's tech phone: (800)832-4778.
